SKJERJEHAMN
The trading post by the sea

The sea has formed the foundation of life in Skjerjehamn for thousands of years. Skjerjehamn has been an important hub for fishing, trade, and industry, and at the beginning of the 20th century, it was one of the largest ports on the west coast. However, when transport shifted from sea to land around the middle of the last century, the bustling life here quieted for a time.
Aquaculture
In 2005, the aquaculture company Firda Seafood took over as owner, and the salty drops brought new life to the trading post. Since then, aquaculture has been our cornerstone.
Skjerjehamn is Firda Seafood’s showcase center for aquaculture, and we are proud to promote one of the country’s largest industries.
We offer our guests daily RIB tours in the archipelago, with visits to one of our aquaculture facilities. In addition, we have an outdoor exhibition, Blue Garden, a walk through the garden.
